As the Principal of Marketing What’s New, Glenn Schmelzle acts as virtual marketing executive for many Ottawa-area technology companies. Glenn founded the consulting firm in 2009 out of a conviction that highly-engineered technology products cannot be marketed like any other product.
Glenn has spent 15 years in the technology sector, five of those years as Director of Marketing with mid-sized software firms. He has also been a sales professional for B2B software applications, achieving record-breaking revenue growth. He has helped companies both in and outside the technology sector expand throughout North America, as he did while an advisor with the US Department of Commerce and also with North America’s largest trade services firm.
Glenn holds a BA from University of Toronto, an MBA from Clarkson University with further marketing studies in Canada and the UK. He spreads his passion for high tech by speaking publicly and sharing strategies online. Glenn is active on the board of Sales Professionals of Ottawa” and participates in OCRI’s Zone5ive marketing group. Glenn is also active in his Ottawa neighbourhood, serving as a board member for the community-driven Kanata North Recreation Complex.
